Original Limp Bizkit Lineup Reunite For Summer Tour/New Album

I’ll admit it. I used to like Limp Bizkit. I won’t explain it, or apologize for it. I still enjoy a handful of songs off of Significant Other. Beyond that, I’ve felt that if nothing else, they’ve served an important purpose in popular music, focusing the hatred of countless people who love to hate stuff just for the sake of hating it; other music artists, fans, critics. Too often, the senseless bitching and moaning of people commenting on popular music from a variety of perspectives has always been rather scatterbrained and sporadic. This kind of energy output is woefully inefficient. It takes bands like Limp Bizkit to concentrate that energy, forcing it to critical mass until it has no choice but to convert itself and disperse throughout poptopia as universal love towards everyone else! That love lasts only for so long before we all turn back into whiny bastards, but while it’s out there, it’s like that feeling of seeing the vampires from Twilight sparkle like diamonds when exposed to sunlight!!!

And it looks like we’ll experience again, as the band has announced they’re getting back together (Wes Borland included) for a tour this summer, with a new studio album to follow. Fred Durst and Wes Borland made the offical announcement on the band’s website:

“We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back.”

Britney’s back in the news for music again, Eminem’s staging a comeback, now this? Christ, it’s gonna be 1999 all over again.
